How Numbr works

Step-by-Step Guide for Numbr users

Adding a second phone number to your cell phone has never been easier. No contract, no provider and no questions asked. Numbr provides you with a simple and inexpensive way to protect your privacy with a disposable number to make international and domestic calls or send SMS/MMS worldwide.

Everything you need before starting to use Numbr

  1. Phone Number (subscription)
    • weekly, monthly or yearly automatically renewable subscription to keep your number active
  2. Credits (consumable)
    • one-time purchases of credits
    • credits do not expire
    • need to be purchased manually when spent
  3. Internet connectivity
    • Wi-Fi or Mobile data are needed to make/receive calls and send/receive SMS/MMS

How to set up your 2nd phone number

  1. Tap the "GET A NUMBER" button on the top of the home screen.
  2. Select one of the available numbers for a given country. The app offers real US, UK and CAN phone numbers based on your preference. You can purchase a number for your preferred location from anywhere and send messages or call to any country in the world (e.g. You currently live in Germany but want to buy a US phone number).
  3. To change your country or phone number you have already purchased, tap the "CHANGE A NUMBER" button in settings and pick another country or new desired number at any time.
  4. Choose from the list of available numbers and confirm your selection.
  5. Choose the desired subscription period for your number.
  6. Make a purchase using your Apple ID.

How to purchase credits

Every new user is given 20 free credits that can be used to make and receive calls or send and receive SMS/MMS with your new number. After spending free trial credits, you need to purchase one of the credit packages via your Apple ID. Credit packages are one-time purchases and they do not expire and do not automatically renew.

  1. Go to the Contacts or Profile section in the app.
  2. Tap on the "BUY CREDITS" button.
  3. Choose your preferred package of credits.
  4. Make a purchase using your Apple ID.

How to make a call or send SMS/MMS

  1. Purchase your number as described above.
  2. Make sure you have enough Numbr credits to avoid being cut mid-call. You can check your remaining credits in the profile or contacts section of the app.
  3. To make a call, go either to a dial-pad or contacts list in the app.
  4. To send SMS/MMS, tap the message icon on the bottom toolbar for a new message and choose from your contacts.
  5. Either choose the contact or type the number manually.
  6. Confirm.

How much does it cost

Prices differ from country to country. Some of them even have specific prices for certain regions, cities or mobile operators. To save you from scrolling through thousands of price lists, the app offers a simple Tariff calculator.

  1. Go to the profile section of the app.
  2. Tap on Tariffs.
  3. The "FROM" field is pre-set based on what phone number you purchased. You can change it manually by tapping the field.
  4. Tap on the "TO" field and choose which country you would like to call or text to.
  5. The calculator displays how many Numbr credits per minute it takes to
    a) make a call or send SMS/MMS from your number to a country you chose (Outgoing)
    b) receive a call or send SMS/MMS to your number from a country you chose (Incoming)

How to cancel

Since all purchases are made via Apple, you will need to access your subscriptions under your Apple ID and deactivate it. Once your subscription is deactivated, your phone number is returned to the pool of numbers and can be purchased by other users. Credits that you purchased do not expire. If you decide to purchase a different number, the credits will be transferred. However, you need to purchase the number with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase credits.

Best,
